Catch up
The aim of the save was to try and become the leading goalkeeping goalscoring in history bettering Rogerio Ceni’s total of 131. I chose Stefan Hagerup at Norwegian second tier side Ull/Kisa due to his decent looking freekick attribute and ok technique combined with an ok looking Goalkeeper attribute spread.
When the save started, he had 2 goals to his name in his career so for. In the first season he scored 4 goals. The second season saw him bang in a total of 13 goals which helped his side take the league title. We then saw Stefan play out his contract refusing to renew. After leaving the club he signed for Aalesund in the second tier in our 3rd season. He struggled in a poor team and could only manage 2 goals in the campaign.
Season 4
One thing I enjoy about playing in Norway is the annual youth intake happens at the start of the season. Young William Pavone looked like a goalkeeper with good potential but unfortunately, he didn’t have the skills for the dead ball situations. The elite talents would go straight into the first team to strengthen the squad.

We went into the fixtures with this youthful squad trying to create as many opportunities for Stefan as we can, whilst always looking to improve in the weakest areas of the 1st team.

The early signs were promising with Stefan scoring a free kick in the opening game in front of the home fans against Sandes Ulf. It was his 22nd career goal.
We had to wait for 7 more games until Stefan scored again. In an away fixture against Eidsvold Turn he put away a penalty in a 1-1 draw. He scored again 2 games later in a dramatic game where he missed a penalty earlier in the match before stepping up to put away a free kick in a 1-0 home victory. Injury struck in June so Stefan missed 3 matches. I didn’t want to throw Young Pavone into the deep end straight away so I signed the more experienced Helge Sandvik to fill in. He didn’t impress so was added to the second team. Shortly after returning Stefan missed a penalty then got injured for a further 5 games. William played two of them and I then managed to sign another more experienced keeper Nicklas Frenderup who played 3 games. It wasn’t until the 3rd last game of the season that Stefan got his 4th and final of the season. He scored a penalty in a 2-0 victory at home against Kongsvinger. This brings him up to 25 career goals in total.
After a slow start then finding form to allow us to compete for the title we drop away at the end after a couple of injuries to key players. Aalesund make the playoffs but lose in the Semi-final game against Sandefjord 1-2 at home.

Overall it was disappointing as a lot of the free kicks taken seemed to miss, get held or hit the bar. There wasn’t as many penalty opportunities either.
On the plus side our hero is now knocking on the door of the top ten in the all-time goalkeeper goalscorers list

Hopefully the youngster players will develop and improve and we can try and add quality to the team to get more service for our goal scoring hero.
